If you play the album in order I think the thought and skill that make album creation an art are apparent. This is a very listenable album from track 1 to track 10 non-stop. I first owned this album on vinyl back when it first came out in the 70's. That's long worn out and I'm thrilled to have my White Trash Roadwork listenable again on CD and MP/5().

The live follow-up to 's Edgar Winter's White Trash finds the group running through a handful of the tunes from their debut album, as well as rocking things up a bit with "Still Alive and Well" (a track later recorded by Edgar's brother Johnny) and "Back in the U.S.A."One of the most immortal lines for any live rock album has to be "People keep askin' me -- where's your brother?"9/

Although it was a short-lived group which broke up in mid-'72, Winter assembled another group to record two more albums for Epic Records, White Trash and Roadwork. Winter's single, "Keep Playing That Rock 'n' Roll," reached number 70 on the U.S. rock radio charts, and the album Roadwork hit number 23 on the album charts.

Roadwork was the second of only three albums the band recorded together. Highlights include Winter's vocals and virtuoso keyboard work, plus the guitar stylings of Rick Derringer. The longest track on the album was the band's own version of the John D. Loudermilk song, "Tobacco Road", which lasted over 17 minutes, taking up an entire side of.
